High-voltage interconnection system for next-generation vehicles

TTI Europe now offers TE Connectivity's high-performance interconnection system for next-generation vehicles, the AMP+ HVA 1200 high-voltage. This interconnection system represents a significant addition to the company's range of HV connectors for hybrid and all-electric vehicles. With a voltage rating of up to 1,000VDC and a current carrying ability to 100A at 85C, the connector system is specially developed to ensure a safe and reliable connection between the charging interface, the on-board charger and the battery.

The system offers a header and two plugs for both straight and right-angle connector applications. At its core a newly developed PCON 12 high-power terminal supports a total wire range from 5mm2 to 16mm2 respectively, 10mm2 to 16mm2 according to LV216-2. For maximum flexibility, the single header is able to be mated with 90-degree as well as 180-degree plugs. Also, the system provides an integrated HV interlock completed by the critical built-in touch-safety in line with IEC 60529 IP2XB and UL-finger standards.

Typical applications are targeted at the charging interface, on-board charger and battery interconnection for HVs and all-electric and fuel-cell vehicles.
